Originally built and operated as Seward’s Hardware and Plumbing in the late 1800s, the building at 35796 NY 10 has always been a staple for the town of Hamden. Over the years, people have visited for everything from shooting at the archery range to picking out penny candy and in more recent years, a good cup chili and local farm products.
Re-opened as the Hamden General Store in May 2021, the hope is to provide great and predominately local food and home goods to those living near by as well as those passing through. As a central point in Delaware County, we aim to be a great place to meet a friend for coffee, a resource for the staples, a store where you can try new things, and support your community by picking up outstanding local products.
